What goes around comes around, that is the cyclical nature of interior design. The back lash from the grey era is beginning and we are seeing a move from silver and chrome to brass to copper to rose gold and slowly towards gold. Gold is warm and produces the wow factor, that is the perfect antidote for these cold dark months. It had the reputation of being showy and extravagant but we believe its resurgence is a cry for change and cheerfulness. Don’t be afraid to mix gold with brass or copper, they can work well as shown in our large window display. We have used an R V Astley matt brass chandelier with a selection of bright gold accessories.
Many of the new wallpaper collections are now featuring gold versions of their designs, even William Morris has added metallic gold to the new Archive 4 collection. On the featured image we have shown Osborne and Little Ponti, Sketch 23 Milan, Galerie Majestic and Arte Mosaic. Come in and browse through our extensive library of wallpapers and fabrics to see how gold can work in your home.
Our new Autumn/Winter window displays are now in. The large window features Romo Black Edition Herberia wallpaper. It is a very striking wide width textured vinyl. The whole window reflects the current catwalk trends: velvet, vintage Gothic, Old Masters and dark greens. The small window showcases the other trend for blush, a hangover from Spring/Summer. We have used Jane Churchill’s new Atmosphere collection and unlike previous displays we have used the same design on wallpaper and fabric to great effect. Both windows are dark and moody but show how the use of dark colours can be warm. Come and see for yourself, I recommend driving past at night to get the full impact. Did you know everything in the window is available to buy or order, this includes the ever popular Nobilis throws. They are back in store and the Hermine and Castor are on display in the windows. Come in to see the full range, no other throw is quite as luxurious.
