G C Johnson Ltd have been selling the very finest materials available from the interior and exterior painting and decorating market to professional decorators and home improvers since 1969.
The business has occupied its current premises for all of that time, serving the local community and the wider market of London and the Home Counties offering specialist paint, wallpaper & decorating sundry products and professional advice alongside what we believe to be the best service available in the paint and decorating industry.

Our History
Mr George C Johnson, the founder of the company, had many years experience within the trade working as a representative for Manders Paints before taking the decision to go it alone, and when he opened his shop the emphasis was very much on having everything that a professional painter and decorator could require in stock or readily available, and being able to answer any decorating question quickly and with expert knowledge.
The company prospered as a result of this approach, and even though Mr Johnson sold the business in 1991, his trading style continues today with one of the owners, Pat Wallace, having been trained by Mr Johnson for his first four years in the business.
In 2020 we opened a second showroom and shop in Harlow. The upstairs showroom provides an area to browse paint ranges & colours, wallpapers and fabrics. The depot offers a delivery service to our customers and the staff in both our shops are on hand to offer advice on all products and ranges.
